He died May 12, 1963, at the Veterans Hospital in Iowa City. Mr Poor spent almost his entire life in the vicinity of Wadena and most of his life on a farm. Read More	Arlington News 23 May 1963----Obituary of Frank H. Poor Frank Harvey Poor was born Sept 14, 1890, West Union, IA, Fayette County, the son of Margaret Ann Boleyn and William Jesse Poor. He died May 12, 1963, at the Veterans Hospital in Iowa City. Mr Poor spent almost his entire life in the vicinity of Wadena and most of his life on a farm. On Sept. 18, 1917, he enlisted in the service of his country and was sent to Camp Dodge. After about one year he was promoted to corporal, on Sept. 1, 1918. Later he was sent overseas, being in many battles and was wounded in the battle at Argonne Forrest, Sept 29, 1918. He was then discharged at Camp Dodge, Jan. 21, 1919. He was united in marriage to Myrtle Blanche Homewood, Oct. 29, 1922. While a youth he attended the Presbyterian Church at Wadena and became a member of the Methodist Church August 23, 1959. He was a member of the Odd Fellow Lodge, the American Legion and World War I veterans. Surviving are his wife Myrtle Blanche; one sister, Ellen, Mrs. Fern Weyant, of Edgewood; one brother Raymond, of Council Bluffs; one son, Richard, of Waterloo three grandchildren and number of nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his father, mother and one grandson. Services were held from the Methodist Church at Arlington May 15, 2:00 p.m., with Rev.Herbert Clyde Shaffer in charge. Committal servicers were at the Wadena cemetery. CARD OF THANKS- We wish to thank friends, relatives and neighbors for cards and letters, flowers, gifts and all expression of while Frank Poor was hospitalized at Iowa City and at the time of his death.
