Funeral services were held at the Baptist church in New Market Thursday afternoon, May 17. Rev L.M. Pence, pastor of the church officiated. Burial was in Memory cemetery. Frank Holland, son of Andrew and Laura Holland, was born in Greenville, Tenn, March 5, 1894 and died at the age of 68 years, two months, ten days. He came to Taylor county, Iowa, in 1912 and was united in marriage to Alice Mae Wells on February 16, 1916 in Clarinda. They were engaged in farming near New Market most of the time until recent years, when his health would not permit. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Earl Holland; a half-sister, Mollie Patterson of Denver, Colo; and a half-brother, Sam Holland of Redding. He is survived by his wife, Alice Mae Holland, his companion for 46 years; one daughter, Jennie, Mrs Ed Glidden of Hopkins; two sisters, Mrs Mae Vaughn of Churckey, Tenn, Mrs Coy Dunn of Afton, Tenn; four brothers, George Holland of Lenox, Perry Holland of Johnson City, Tenn, Marshall Holland of Knoxville, Tenn, Bert Holland of Churckey, Tenn; two half-sisters, Mrs Emma Johnson of Guss, Mrs Mattie Gass of Chuckey; seven grandchildren.
