Description	:	Frank Hout, 83, passed away peacefully at his home in Anchorage, Alaska on August 9, 2015. Frank was the youngest of six children born to Dora (Lippert) Hout and Charles Hout on June 13, 1932. Frank spent his younger years on their small ranch located on the Tongue River, about 15 miles southwest of Miles City. Frank was the youngest of six children born to Dora (Lippert) Hout and Charles Hout on June 13, 1932. Frank spent his younger years on their small ranch located on the Tongue River, about 15 miles southwest of Miles City. Frank always told stories of wanting to go “to town” and the only way to get there was to ride bareback, which he didn’t mind because he did it often. As a young man Frank worked with his brother Fritz who owned the Crow Rock Coal Mine north of Miles City. The winter months found the brothers using explosives to free the coal. Horse drawn coal cars were used to haul it out to the waiting trucks where it was unloaded by hand. Frank often remembered just how cantankerous those horses could be The brothers provided coal to a wide number of ranches in the area, keeping the prairie winter cold out. With the arrival of summer Frank and Fritz spent their time building fence for the ranchers in the area. Frank was never afraid of hard work. In the late 1960’s Frank felt the pull of Alaska’s North Slope and the oil boom. He was only going to stay for six months, but Alaska was to be his home for the rest of his life. Here in this beautiful setting he met and married the love of his life, Paulette Vilette on May 18, 1977. Together they celebrated 38 years of marriage. Frank and Paulette continued to work on the North Slope together until they purchased the 515 Club in downtown Anchorage. They owned and operated the Bar until their retirement. Over the years Frank and Paulette made many dear friends at the Bar feeling that they were all part of their extended family. Frank is survived by his wife Paulette, her children Michelle, Kathy and Phillip, several grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Frank was a good man who will be greatly missed. Frank’s final wish was to be returned home to Montana to be buried. Family will receive friends on Thursday, August 20, 2015 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City then will proceed to the cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. burial at the Custer County Cemetery Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge of the arrangements.
