Description	:	Frank Howard Chesarek passed away suddenly on September 1, 2018. He was born in Butte, MT on April 10, 1947 to Frank and Monica (Whooley) Chesarek. He was one of four children. Frank grew up in Billings, MT and attended grade school and graduated from Billings Central Catholic High School in 1965. He was born in Butte, MT on April 10, 1947 to Frank and Monica (Whooley) Chesarek. He was one of four children. Frank grew up in Billings, MT and attended grade school and graduated from Billings Central Catholic High School in 1965. Frank attended Montana State University in Bozeman, enlisted in the Army and served two terms in Vietnam from 1966-1969. Frank served in the 101st Airborne Division. After returning from Vietnam, he finished his education and graduated from the University of Montana with a Bachelor's teaching degree in History, but remained a loyal Bobcat fan. He taught junior high in Lolo, MT and Three Forks, MT. In 1978, Frank and friend, Jim Brabeck published a Montana History Book "Montana – Two Lane Highway in a Four Lane World." After moving to Billings, he sold the Right-of-Way for Colstrip III and IV and also sold Right-of-Way for Montana Power. He obtained his MT Real Estate Broker's license and was involved in selling real estate in the Billings area for many years. He also worked for City Brew setting up kiosks around the country. Frank was always devoted to community service and gave tours at the Moss Mansion for many years. He was currently serving on the MetraPark Advisory Board and the City of Billings Planning and Zoning Commission. He was probably best known for his vision and dedication to making the Chase Hawks Memorial Roughstock Rodeo the top roughstock rodeo in America and in associated fundraising for its charitable activities. He was currently preparing for the 24th Annual rodeo. Frank was an avid sports enthusiast, had a deep love and knowledge of Montana history and classic country music. He was the family historian for a large family and enjoyed and perfected cooking his Dutch oven cowboy beans, cornbread and cobblers. Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Monica Chesarek and his sister Cathy. Frank is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Trawick, his son, Scott (Tammy and Colter) Chesarek of Billings, brothers – Steve (Rose) Chesarek of Billings and Colonel Bill (Barb) Chesarek of Florida; sister-in-law, Pat (Allen & Staci) Reynolds, sister-in-law, Beverly (Don) Huffman; nephews: Gerald Shaia, Colonel Carl (Haylee) Shaia, Colonel Will (Chris) Chesarek, Clayton (Claire) Chesarek, Joshua (Jennifer) Chesarek, Ted (Kara) Chesarek, Tyler (Crissy) Chesarek and Nelson (Bernadette) Riley; Byron (Christine) Snider, Shawn (Amber) Snider, Chris (Marcia) Huffman and Danny (Britt) Huffman; nieces: Joanna Chesarek, Jessica (Darrin "Bo") Bruce, Larissa (Rian) Mondriaan, Terra Chesarek, Heather (Pat) Murphy, as well as numerous cousins, great nephews and nieces. Visitation will be 10 am to 5 pm Friday at Dahl Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Saturday, September 8, 2018 at St. Patrick Co-Cathedral. Interment will be at the Bear Creek Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Chase Hawks Memorial Association or charity of your choice.
