Funeral Services Held Saturday Impressive funeral services were held at 9:30 Saturday morning at St. Michael's church in Central City for Frank J. Janky, sr., 96, who passed away at the home of his son, Frank J. Janky, jr., on Wednesday evening. Father Joseph Duhamel conducted the services in Central City following which the remains were taken to Brainard for burial. Monsignor Klein assisted by Father Duhamel had charge of the rites at Brainard. Pallbearers were Joseph Zmek, sr., Henry Hansjosten, Aois Ruzicka, Francis Janovec, Joseph Nabity and Frank Pop. The choir of the Clarks Catholic church furnished appropriate music. Frank J. Janovy was born on Feb. 2, 1850 at Hrotovice, Moravia, the son of Jacob and Anna Janky, and passed away April 10, 1948, at the home of his son, Frank, jr. In 1874, he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Jnecek at Omaha, and for several years the couple engaged in farming in Butler and Saunders counties. They came to Merrick county and to Chapman in 1903. In 1921 Mrs. Janky passed away and since that time Mr. Janky has made his home with his son, Frank and family. Left to mourn his loss are his two sons, James of David City, Frank of Chapman and one daughter, Mrs. Joseph Semin of Ulysses, two sisters, nineteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. His parents, his wife and three sons preceded him in death. Mr. Janky passed quietly to his eternal rest sitting in his favorite spot, his old rocking chair. He had not been ill and it was a great shock when the family discovered he had passed away. Attending the services from away were Mr. and Mrs. James Janky and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Vitek and family Mr. and Mrs. Frank Navratre, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Rech and family, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Rech and family Mr. and Mrs. Antone Osmera of David City, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Semin, Ulysses, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Nabity and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Dembowski, St. Paul, Mr. and Mrs. Antone Pelican, Palmer, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Michalski, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hruza and Miss Frances Musilek of Grand Island and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Mashek of Schuyler. ___ p. 8, col. 1 CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank our friends and neighbors for the many kind deeds bestowed upon us at the time of the death of our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Frank Janky sr.
