Read More	Klanecky Killed At Hastings - Working as Carpenter at Naval Depot - It was a shock to the community when word was received early Saturday evening that Frank Klanecky of St. Paul had been killed, when a large timber fell on him while at work as carpenter at the Hastings naval depot at 3:30 that afternoon. The body was brought here for burial by the Keating Mortuary. Mr. Klanecky had been working at the carpenter trade for some time and at the time of his untimely death was employed in building a hangar at Hastings. He was about 51 years of age and is survived by his sorrowing wife, a son and a daughter, besides several brothers and sisters. The case is more sad as his wife is an invalid, suffering with arthritis. His daughter, Doris, 18, is teaching school, and the son Glen attends school in St. Paul. Frank Joseph Klanecky, son of Joseph and Kristina Klanecky, was born Nov. 8, 1892 at Farwell, Neb., and departed this life Sept. 2, 1944 at Hastings, Neb., being 51 years, 9 months and 25 days old. He grew to manhood in the vicinity north of Farwell and attended school in Dist. 29. He was united in marriage to Miss Mary Pavlik, Feb. 17, 1920 at St. Paul. They set up housekeeping on a farm near his parents. To this union were born two children, Doris and Glen. Mr. Klanecky was confirmed in the Lutheran church of Elba. He served as a school board member for Dist. 52 for several years. About two years ago, Mr. Klanecky and his family left the farm and purchased a home in St. Paul. He was employed a the Hastings Naval depot as a carpenter. It was while he was at work that a timber fell and struck his head, fracturing his skull. He was a kind and devoted husband and father, always jovial and generous. He was a good neighbor and friend. Mr. Klanecky's father preceded him in death in 1927. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife; daughter Doris, son, Glen; his mother Mrs. Kristina Klanecky, Farwell; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Francil of St. Paul, Mrs. Emil Novak of Murray, Neb., two brothers, Louie and Joseph of Farwell, and a host of friends. (Funeral details followed.) Burial was made at Elmwood cemetery.
