Description	:	Frank John Stasny was born June 15, 1918 in Berwyn, Ill. At age 2 his family moved to Portland, where he attended Washington High School and Portland State University. His scholastic career continued at Oregon State University, where he pursued an engineering degree and joined the Phi Kappa Phi fraternity. After a post-graduate degree from Curtis Wright Aeronautical College in Glendale, California., he joined Boeing in 1941, starting to work in the "Old Red Barn" then known as plant I. Once upon visiting the Museum of Flight and seeing that old "red barn" he exclaimed, while on the... Read More	Frank John Stasny was born June 15, 1918 in Berwyn, Ill. At age 2 his family moved to Portland, where he attended Washington High School and Portland State University. His scholastic career continued at Oregon State University, where he pursued an engineering degree and joined the Phi Kappa Phi fraternity. After a post-graduate degree from Curtis Wright Aeronautical College in Glendale, California., he joined Boeing in 1941, starting to work in the "Old Red Barn" then known as plant I. Once upon visiting the Museum of Flight and seeing that old "red barn" he exclaimed, while on the second floor, "Why that's my old corner and drafting board!" Frank helped establish the first chapter of the American Society of Tooling Engineers (later known as the American society of Tooling and Mechanical Engineers). As a chapter member he held all the offices. Later he was elected as chairman of the Puget Sound Engineering Council. During his 40-year career at Boeing he helped develop and build the B-17, B-29 and Bomark missile. He spent seven years developing the lost dream - the Boeing SST - then the 707, C97-377, 727 and 767. Survivors include Bette, his loving wife of almost 54 years; 3 sons and many grandchildren. Remembrances to Seattle 911 or Providence Hospice for their gentle and loving care over a long period would be greatly appreciated. Services were held at Alki Congregational United Church of Christ.
