Description	:	Frank Johnston, age 86 passed peacefully away on March 18, 2013 from complications with Pneumonia, Parkinson's disease, and Alzheimer's disease. He was born May 17, 1926 the youngest child of Lowell and Ethel (Been) Johnston. His father died when he was a very young and his Mother as a young widow had a hard time raising her children in the depression years. Frank was baptized and went to school in Wibaux. Read More	Frank Johnston, age 86 passed peacefully away on March 18, 2013 from complications with Pneumonia, Parkinson's disease, and Alzheimer's disease. He was born May 17, 1926 the youngest child of Lowell and Ethel (Been) Johnston. His father died when he was a very young and his Mother as a young widow had a hard time raising her children in the depression years. Frank was baptized and went to school in Wibaux. He met his wife Emma in Warm Springs where she was taking psychiatric nursing classes and he was painting water towers for the railroad. As it was wartime he was soon to be drafted. On his leave he and Emma married on December 22, 1951. He moved his bride to Killeen, TX where he was stationed. Frank then was shipped to Austria shortly after WWII ended and had many tales to tell of his adventures there. Frank and Emma upon his discharge moved to Miles City, MT where he raised seven children. To help out his father-in-law, Frank bought his farm in Yellowstone Valley and spent many long hard hours there. Frank loved going deer hunting and spending time with his nieces and nephews. Frank worked for Deluxe Motors as a mechanic for 37 years. He then bought Miles City Cab and ran that business for 10 years. Frank was a real family man and loved having his grandchildren and great grandchildren to play with. He was so proud of all of his family, and each one can attest to some special way he touched their lives. Frank is survived by his daughters, Wanda (Bud) Rasmussen of Grenora, ND and Marla Malley and sons Kevin (Mary) Johnston, and Lowell Johnston all of Miles City, his sister Leona Wright, sister-in laws Hazel Wetherelt, Ruby Olson and Betty Olson. Grandkids: Jack and Wade Rasmussen, Denise (Tom) Kane and their families; Joe (Amber) Ferris and Hailey; Peggy Ferris; Kim Teske (Mike Moody) and sons Vance Teske and Marley Moody; Greg (Rheahnon) Carlson and kids Jeremy, Emma and Isabel; Chris Hibbs; Misty Johnston and sons Brenden and Braden; Elizabeth Johnston; and Jennifer (Paul) Bartholomew and kids Riley and Alisson. He also had numerous nieces and nephews who thought the world of him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma and daughters Brenda and Charla Johnston and Carla Ferris, Brothers James, Winfred and Ora Johnston and sisters Alice Symington and Orphana Wymore. He was loved by many and will be missed deeply. Visitation will begin on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 25, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Miles City. Interment will follow in the Custer County Cemetery with full military honors provided by VFW Post 1579. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge of the arrangements.
