From this he could not be... Read More	From Story County Watchman May 10, 1889 FRANK L. OGDEN.--The community was startled on last Sabbath {May 5th} by the unexpected news that Mr. Frank L. Ogden had died at his home, about 1 p. m., after an illness of only a few hours duration, from apoplexy. He was engaged on his farm the day before, and seemingly well as usual. He complained in the morning before rising, of not feeling well, and said he would lie a little longer. Sometime after his wife went to call him but found him in an unconscious condition. From this he could not be aroused, and passed away about 1 p. m. Mr. Ogden was born at Montrose, Pa., Oct. 30, 1835. The family afterwards moved to Orleans County, N. Y., where he remained until early manhood, when he came to Ill. He was married to Miss Sallie E. Rodearmel at Freeport, Ill., Oct. 4th, 1864, came to Iowa May 4th 1869, and had resided in Nevada from that time until his death. Mr. Ogden was a man of generous impulses, and especially sympathetic towards those who needed sympathy and help. He was kind and indulgent in his family and accomodating among his neighbors. His fondness for children made him a favorite among the little folks. His death was a severe blow to his now surviving widow, and the only son Eugene, a young man of eighteen years, and is likewise felt by his neighbors and friends. The funeral took place at 10 a. m. Tuesday from the residence, and was largely attended. He had, at sometime, expressed a desire that everything connected with his funeral should be of the plainest character, and this was thoughtfully observed. The singing was well rendered by the choir of the M. E. Church, Rev. Reid read the scriptures, Rev. Ziegler offered a prayer, Rev. Ferguson made a short address, after which Rev. Danner offered a few remarks, Rev. Fegtly made the closing prayer at the house and Rev. Coyle dismissed the people at the grave. The service was plain and simple throughout, and yet tender and touching. The people of the community deeply sympathize with the wife and son in their great loss, and can assure them that they have a warm place in their affection.
