Description	:	[born Frank Lawrence Rea] The community was shocked Tuesday to learn of the death of Lawrence Ray which occurred early that morning. Mr. Ray was taken sick with typhoid fever a couple of weeks ago, shortly after his return from Omaha where he had been with a shipment of stock. From the first his condition was serious and it was found impossible to stay the course of the fever. The deceased was born at Carmichaels, Green County, Pennsylvania, Oct. 6, 1860, and hence at the time of his death was 50 years, 10 months and 9 days of age. ... From the first his condition was serious and it was found impossible to stay the course of the fever. The deceased was born at Carmichaels, Green County, Pennsylvania, Oct. 6, 1860, and hence at the time of his death was 50 years, 10 months and 9 days of age. He had resided just south of town for many years and was a man who had a host of friends and stood high in the estimation of his friends and neighbors. He leaves a wife, five daughters, and two sons. The funeral services were held at the home this afternoon, and so great was the assembly of mourners that the services were conducted out of doors under the trees. The Rev. M. J. Holmes, pastor of the M.E. Church, conducted the services. Interment was in the Merrick County Cemetery. (Central City Republican and Central City NonPareil, August 17, 1911)
