He was born the son of Henry and Barbara Floyd Strait on Sept. 8, 1877 near Center Point and on April 21, 1906 he was married to Martha I. Minor, who passed away in 1942. Cook of Center Point a sister, Mrs. Logan (Rose) Dennison of Vinton; a brother, Ben Strait of Center Point and eight step grandchildren. Services were 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 28 at the Free Methodist church of Toddville, conducted by Rev. Victor Parsons. Interment was in Dunkard Cemetery. Murdoch chapel in Center Point were in charge of arrangements.
