He was born January 14, 1929 in Verdigre, NE to Frank and Avis (Smith) Christiansen. He grew up in Verdigre, NE and graduated from Wisner High School in 1947. Survivors include: wife, Marrion; son – Randy and wife Bonny Christiansen of Fremont, NE; daughter – Robin and husband Loran Hilbers of Hooper, NE; sister – Aletha and husband Fred Toy of Fremont, NE; 6 grandchildren – Douglas Christiansen, Jennifer Barker, Travis Christiansen, Nathan Hilbers, Greg Hilbers & Brent Hilbers; and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: parents; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters. Memorial Service will be 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. The Rev. Dan Heuer will officiate. There is no viewing however friends may sign the register book 9 A.M. to 8 P.M. Monday with family receiving friends 6-8 P.M. at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Cremains will be placed in the columbarium at Ridge Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Fremont Honor Guard of V.F.W. Post #854 and American Legion Post #20. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association or Fremont Area Medical Center Hospice.
