Mr. Phillips died very suddenly on Dec. 26 of a heart attack, at his home near Geddes. The Rev. Edward Carraher officiated at the services. Burial was in the local cemetery. Clements Funeral Home of Armour was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Phillips was born on his father's homestead just one mile north of the city of Geddes on February 28, 1885, the son of David and Elizabeth Phillips. He was married Nov. 28th 1918 to Julia Gehan of Geddes. Three sisters and three brothers preceded him in death. Mr. Phillips farmed in this area all of his life on the same homestead. He had made threshing a business since young manhood and has owned a threshing machine most of his life. He is survived by his widow and one brother Edwin, of Yankton. Pallbearers were William Blair, Paul Oberbroekling, Norman Pederson, Glen Huggins, Darrel Meis, and Alfred Ament. Card of Thanks I wish to extend my heartfelt thanks to all my friends, to Rev. Father Edward Carraher, St. Ann's Choir, Dr. Mills, Mr. and Mrs. William Blair, and St. Marks band for the dinner; also to all those who in any way helped, and for the lovely cards and visits during our recent bereavement.
