Frank was married to Tillie Fray on March 14, 1917, in Ottumwa. It appears the couple was later divorced. As noted below, Frank was survived by a wife Mamie. An obituary was published in the “Ottumwa Courier,” for Frank on the day of his death. He as born in Illinois on May 1, 1888, the son of Travis and Mary Jane Davison Stanfield. He was a retired carpenter and contractor and had been a resident of Ottumwa for the past eight years. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Frank was survived by his wife, Mamie; one son, Ray Stanfield of Fairfield; two daughters, Mrs. Raymond Deford of Ottumwa and Mrs. Chester Thomas of Conrad, Mont.; six grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Lillian McVey and Mrs. Helen Smithart of Ottumwa and Mrs. Etta Hamm of Gladstone Maine, Canada. He was preceded in death by one daughter in infancy, two brothers and two sisters. The funeral arrangements were handled by the Johnson Funeral Chapel. (Frank’s obituary did not state where he was buried. I looked up the location of his burial on his death record at the Wapello County Court House.)
