Born Dec. 31, 1925, in Galva, Iowa, Rolland Frank Williams was the son of Glen L. & Myrtle (Jones) Williams. He graduated from Ida Grove High school with the Class of 1944, then served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Born Dec. 31, 1925, in Galva, Iowa, Rolland Frank Williams was the son of Glen L. & Myrtle (Jones) Williams. He graduated from Ida Grove High school with the Class of 1944, then served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Following his tour of duty, Frank worked as Godbersen-Smith Construction Co. in Ida Grove, for a time before returning to the Marine Corps for several additional years of service. He then resumed employment at Godbersen-Smith where he continued working until the time of his death. Frank was a fixture at the company, and was well known within the industry and throughout the area for the dedication and commitment he devoted to his life's work. On February 29, 1952, he was united in marriage to Irene Krayenhagen at the Church of God in Ida Grove. The couple made their home in Ida Grove where they raised their family of 4 daughters. Frank was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ida Grove and was a very active member of McNamara-Moore Post No. 61 of the American Legion. He served as CEO on the Board of Skate Palace where he spent many hours supervising and maintaining the facility. He enjoyed working and gardening, and especially appreciated time spent with his children and grandchildren. Survivors include 4 daughters and their husbands, Deb and Randy Suggitt of Sioux City, Iowa; Kathy and Ed Petersen of Ida Grove; Lesa and Brian Sahl of Arthur, Iowa; and Barb and Earl Lindgren of Ida Grove; 10 grandchildren, Chad (Tracy) DeRocher, Colin Suggitt, Zach (Katrie) Montgomery, Charlie Montgomery and fiancee Rachel, Nathan (Dwan) Sahl, Katie Lindgren and fiancee Nick; Stacy DeRocher and special friend Todd; Heather (Terry) King; Christy Large; and Tonya (Mickey) Conard; and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene; his parents; a great granddaughter, Paige Williams; 4 brothers, Dean, Dale, Ray, and Alan Williams; and a sister, Donna Stapleton.
