Description	:	Frank Strovers, 100, of Grinnell died of a heart ailment Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Mayflower Health Care Center. He was born June 13, 1902, in Kellogg to Garrett and Lucretia Melton Strovers. He was raised in the Kellogg area and attended rural schools in Jasper County. Read More	Frank Strovers, 100, of Grinnell died of a heart ailment Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Mayflower Health Care Center. He was born June 13, 1902, in Kellogg to Garrett and Lucretia Melton Strovers. He was raised in the Kellogg area and attended rural schools in Jasper County. He served with the U.S. Army after World War I. On April 1, 1930, he was married to Gladys M. Clay in Winterset. They moved to the Grinnell area in 1937. Mr. Strovers worked for Grinnell College, the Maytag Company and as a mechanic for the John Deere tractor dealership. After his retirement, he operated Strovers' Saw Sharpening Service. He was a member of the West Liberty Church of Christ and the Kellogg Historical Association. Surviving are his wife; one son, Clifford of Grinnell; two daughters, Lela Brush of Zionsville, Ind., and Martha Noe of Greeley, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Nellie Buttrey, and six brothers, Harry, Milton, John, Charles, Clarence and Lester.
