Read More	Tuesday, September 11, 1928, The Oelwein Daily Registar West Union Business Man Buried Today West Union, Ia., Sept 11 - Special: Funeral services will be held this afternoon for Frank Schwestka, a business man of West Union for nearly fifty years, who died Thursday morning at his home after a period of illness of nearly ten weeks. Frank Schwestka was born near the city of Prague in Bohemia, Europe, on the 16th of September 1854. He died at the age of seventy-three years, eleven months, and twenty days. Mr. Schwestka attended the schools of his home city until the age of twelve, when he was apprenticed out to learn the tailor trade. This he completed in a three year period, at the age of fifteen he sailed for America, coming directly to an uncle’s home near Cresco, Iowa. A few years later he came to West Union where he lived continuously until his death. On September 10, 1876 he was united in marriage to Ella E. Winett of city. To this union there were born sixteen children, eight boys and eight girls. Two of which preceeded the deceased in death. Of the living all were present for the funeral except one daughter. The children are Mrs. W.G. Boale, Belvidere, Ill, Mrs. J. F. Lane, West Union; Frank Schwestka, St Paul, deceased; Claude B Schwestka, Minneapolis; Alonzo J. Schwestka, Roseville, Cal; Mrs James J. Kennedy, Oelwein; Erwin C Schwestka, Chicago; Joseph J. Schwestka, Fountain, Minn; Ida Mae Schwestka, Chicago; Mrs. J. J. Casey, Chicago; Mrs. Arthur A. Johnson, Chicago; Horace B. Schwestka, Springgrove, Minn,; Lyle L Schwestka, St. Louis, Mo.; Mrs. Robert F. Boggs, Denver, Colo.; Celeste Schwestka, West Union deceased, and Donald Schwestka, West Union. Besides the children there are left to mourn him his wife, many grandchildren, cousins and other relatives both in America and Bohemia.
