Frank Springsteen died at his home northwest of this city last Friday, Aug. 6, after suffering several years with consumption. He was a well known young man and was universally respected. He was married a few years ago to Miss Etta Damrell, daughter of T. S. Damrell and wife east of town. He was a man of sterling character and was energetic and worked hard as long as his health permitted. His friends were numerous and all who knew him only spoke of him in the very highest terms. Mr. Springsteen had been a sufferer of consumption for a long time but displayed great fortitude in fighting the dread disease which finally conquered him. He leaves a young wife, a father, Abe Springsteen, and a large circle of other relatives and friends to mourn his loss. Funeral services were conducted at the Christian church in this city Sunday, Aug. 8, at 3:30 p.m. and were very largely attended. Discourse by Rev. R. B. Havener. The remains were laid to rest in the I.O.O.F. cemetery with Odd Fellows honors. Deceased was born in Shelby county, Mo., April 18, 1880, and was aged 29 years, 3 months and 18 days.
