Description	:	Frank T. Lechman, 88, of Sterling, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, in Sterling. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 8: p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, with recitation of the 1 at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Father Mickey Flaska officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. Mr. Lechman was born Jan. 9, 1914, to Jacob and Anna (Appiehans) Lechman in Pueblo. He graduated from Springdale School. He farmed most of his young adult life. He served in the Army during World War II. On Sept. 24, 1945, he married Mary, Ann Krontz. He worked for Field Hardware for 24 years, then for M & H parts department for 12 years, retiring in 1979. He then worked at Field Hardware again until it closed. He was a member of St.Anthony Catholic Church, an honorary life member of the third degree of Knights of Columbus, charter member of the Sterling Council of the fourth degree of Knights of Columbus, and member of the Usher Club at church for years. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 20 for more than 50 years. Mr. Lechman is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Lechman, Sterling; two sons, Robert Lechman and wife Chris, Greeley, and Bernard Lechman and wife Judi, Alamogordo, N.M.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by six brothers, and two sisters. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Plains or Masses.
