Frank Wesley, 62, former of Linwood, dies Friday, March 4. Funeral services for Frank Wesley, 62, former Linwood resident, were held Tuesday, March 8, at the Presbyterian Church in Schuyler. He had been in ill health for some time and had been confined in the Veterans Hospital in Lincoln for many weeks. He died on Friday, March 4. Son of Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Wesley, he was born in Linwood on April 18, 1893, and lived there most of his life. He was married to Hannah Mueller of David City on September 15, 1928, at David City. Their marriage was blessed with three children: a son, James, and two daughters, Shirley and Carolyn. The family resided in Linwood until Mrs. Wesley's death when they moved to Schuyler where they have since lived. Mr. Wesley served in World War I from September 21, 1917 until August 29, 1919. He was a member of McCloud Post American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars of Schuyler. He was also a member of the Last Man's Club of World War I. He became a member of Acacia Lodge No. 34 in Schuyler in April 1921. He was an employee of the Pokorny Oil Co. for over 20 years. Surviving him are his three children: son, James of the U.S. Navy, stationed at Corpus Christi, Texas; two daughters, Shirley (Mrs. W. W. Murphy) of West Covina, California, and Carolyn of Schuyler; five sisters, Bessie of Schuyler, Mrs. Marie Cordes of Omaha, Mrs. Jeane Freemon of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Ottillie Kerlin of Omaha and Mrs. Fred Thomas, Linwood; three brothers, Albin Wesley, Kansas City, Kas.; Jos. Vavra, Fremont, and Anton Rasky, of Greeley; one grandchild, Kimberly Marie Murphy; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. W. Kerlin. The Schuyler Sun, March 10, 1955 Frank Wesley Died In Lincoln; Funeral Tuesday Afternoon Frank Wesley, 62, of Schuyler died at Veterans Hospital in Lincoln, March 4. A World War I veteran, he was hospitalized about two months. The Rev. John H. --- officiated at funeral rites at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at --- Chapel and 2 p.m. at Presbyterian Church. Burial was in Linwood Hill Cemetery with military honors. Serving as pallbearers were Rudolph Peltz, Frank Peltz, Willard Peters, Ervin Bartunek, George --- and Charles --- Frank Wesley, son of Emanuel K. and Marie Novacek Wesley was born April 18, 1893, in Linwood, where he grew to manhood. He served in World War I from September 21, 1917, to August 29, 1919 with the Third Infantry Division. Mr. Wesley and Hannah Muller were married in David City September 15, 1928. Mrs. Wesley died December 6, 1928 and the family resided in Linwood with his sister, Miss Bessie Wesley until June 1944 when they came to Schuyler. He was employed by Pokorny Oil Co. over 20 years. Mr. Wesley was affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Acacia Lodge No. 34, A.F. & A.M. He was a member of World War I Last Man Club and served as president of the group. He is survived by a son, Frank, stationed with the U.S. Navy at Corpus Christi, Texas, two daughters, Shirley, Mrs. W. W. Murphy, of Covina, Calif., and Miss Carolyn at home, a granddaughter, Kimberly Marie Murphy, five sisters, Miss Bessie Wesley of Schuyler, Mrs. Mary Cordes and Mrs. C.W. Kerlin, both of Omaha, Mrs. Geane Freeman of Los Angeles and Mrs. Fred Thomas of Linwood and three brothers, Albea Wesley of Kansas City, Jos Vavra of Fremont and Anton Rasky of Greeley. His parents and one brother also preceded him in death.
