Description	:	Mr. Frank Wesley Turner, 41, went to be with his Lord at his home on Patterson Avenue in Leaksville, NC after a prolonged illness which followed an operation eight months ago at Duke Hospital in Durham, NC. He was born in Henry County, VA and married Hattie Smith Land of Axton, VA on December 25, 1918. He came to Spray, NC in 1920 and was an employee of Marshall Field and Company until one year ago when his health failed. He has actively connected with the Masonic Order and the Red Men of the Tri-Citis for many years. He was a member... He was born in Henry County, VA and married Hattie Smith Land of Axton, VA on December 25, 1918. He is survived by his wife, daughter Edmonia Turner and son Jeff Turner. He also leaves two brothers Harry Turner and Monroe Turner of Spray, NC and six sisters Mrs. Harry Turner Carter of Figgsboro, VA, Mary Turner of Bassett, VA, Mrs. Sallie Turner Higgs of Ridgeway, VA, Mrs. Toney Turner Burton of Axton and Mrs. Frank Turner Swearington of Greensboro, NC. Funeral services were conducted by his Pastor Reverend Joel E Vause and Reverend H W Peters of the First Christian Church. By request, A E Fair sang two of his favorite songs "When They Ring The Golden Bells" and "Sometimes We Will Understand." The Choir sang "God Be With You Till We Meet Again." His Pastor said of him: "Mr. Turner was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit, reflecting the Spirit of Christ in the home, on the street and at his work. He so lived his religion and the tenets of the Masonic and Red Men ledges, that men said of him "Frank Turner is a good man! He has won friends in the Church, his work and in the community who will be better men by having had fellowship with him." Interment was in Overlook Cemetery in Spray.
