Description	:	Franklin was born in West Concord, NH to Hazen and Ruth (Ela) Abbott. He married Asenath Austin Dow in Bedford, NH (Presbyterian Church), they had four daughters. Only one lived to adulthood - Mary Stella Abbott. (Cora, Lena, and Bertha are all buried with Franklin and Asenath in Woodlawn Cemetery, but there is no marker for them.) Franklin served for many years as the Sunday School Superintendent and Deacon at the First Baptist Church of Penacook (currently named United Church of Penacook). He married Asenath Austin Dow in Bedford, NH (Presbyterian Church), they had four daughters. Only one lived to adulthood - Mary Stella Abbott. (Cora, Lena, and Bertha are all buried with Franklin and Asenath in Woodlawn Cemetery, but there is no marker for them.) Franklin served for many years as the Sunday School Superintendent and Deacon at the First Baptist Church of Penacook (currently named United Church of Penacook). He rented 2/3 of pew #13 on the center aisle - enough space for his wife, daughter, and himself to sit. He was also listed in the census records as a cabinet maker. He worked as the foreman in a cabinet company for 40 years. He served as a Justice of the Peace and alderman for Penacook. He lived at 20 Merrimack Street, Penacook, NH, directly across the street from the First Baptist Church of Penacook. Later in life, he became a landlord and owned a business block in the main part of the village. Franklin died in 1910. His death record indicates he died of a pulmonary embolus with a contributing factor of "cerebral shock." He was 75 years, 3 days. He died at home.
