Thierman, 49, passed away in the Corbin Clinic, Friday noon, September 27, 1935. He was critically injured at his farm home southeast of town at four o'clock Tuesday afternoon, September 24, while helping with the threshing. A team, which was hauling bundles to the thresher became nervous and Mr. Thierman and others who were helping with the work, went to their heads to hold them. The team broke and ran and he was thrown to the ground with great injury to his spinal cord, which caused his death. Mr. Thierman was a well-known farmer and highly respected by his many friends and acquaintances. "The Altoona Herald" Thur. Oct 3,1935: F. C. Thierman, farmer who lived east of Corydon, received a broken neck last week when his team ran away and he was stomped on and a wagon wheel passed over his neck. He died last Friday, leaving a wife and three children. Thierman was 48 years old. OBITUARY: Franklin Charles, eldest son of Charles F. and Anna Thierman was born at Stewart, Iowa, March 24, 1886 and died in the Corbin Clinic at Corydon, Iowa, September 27, 1935 at twenty minutes past 12 o'clock (noon) at the age of 49 years, 6 months and 3 days. At an early age he united with the Methodist church at Menlo, Iowa and transferred his membership to the Corydon Methodist church, where he was a worker until his death. He served in official capacities in the church and was always ready to support the minister and the church, to the best of his ability. He was united in marriage to Ida A. Betts, June 20, 1906, at Casey, Iowa. To this union were born three children: Lucille, Charles Vernon and Bethine, all of whom were at his bedside when he passed away. Besides his wife and children, he is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Thierman of Menlo, Iowa; four sisters, Mrs G. R. Pugh of Woodward, Iowa; Mrs. D. E. Baggess of Chicago, Illinois; Mrs. Clyde Jones of Menlo, Iowa; and Mrs. Carry Evitt of Corydon, Iowa; two brothers, Elmer M. and William Allison Thierman of Webster City. He also has six grandchildren and other relatives and a host of friends.
