Description	:	Obituary of Thorne Rowe Thorne Rowe, 69, Whiting, Iowa died Wednesday, February 26, 2003 due to injuries from an accident. Franklin Thorne Rowe was born November 7, 1933 at Whiting, Iowa, the son of Albert and Doris (Irish) Rowe. He graduated from Whiting High School and served in the United States Army in Europe. Franklin Thorne Rowe was born November 7, 1933 at Whiting, Iowa, the son of Albert and Doris (Irish) Rowe. He graduated from Whiting High School and served in the United States Army in Europe. He was a life long truck driver and enjoyed serving his community. Survivors include a special companion, Daisy Hoffman of Whiting; three sisters, Nadine Okerblad and her husband Loren of Boxholm, Iowa, Jerrine Clark of Omaha, NE and Sue Gries and her husband Wayne of Onawa, IA; two sisters-in-law, Mollie Rowe and Pat Rowe both of Whiting and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Jerry, Bob, Dare, Deon and Dean and two sisters, Dawn Wiley and Betty Jo McCaw. A memorial service was 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2003 at First Congregational Church of Whiting with Rev. Reva B. Karstens officiating. Music selections were "Rock of Ages" and "How Great Thou Art" duets with Fran Haack, pianist and Kay MacClure, organist. Burial was in the Whiting City Cemetery. There was no visitation. Bearers were Bertel McCandless, Wes Miller, Don MacClure, Stan Gibler, Steve Simpson and Brad Simpson. Honorary bearers were Launie Meadows, Laverne Simpson, Don Croker, Gale Lee and Easton Bearce.
