Cotreau, well known optician, who died suddenly on the night of October 2nd of a heart attack, he had been suffering for some time. Despite his poor state of health, there was no predicting such a sudden death. He died while talking with his wife. The deceased, 59 years old, was the son of the late Jérome Cotreau and Colombe Deveau of Salmon River and other than his wife Agnès Romain-Cottreau, who was his second marriage, he leaves to mourn his sudden departure two daughters from his first marriage, Mrs. Elie LeBlanc (Viola) and Mrs. James Millington (Beatrice) of Meteghan; a brother, Louis of Salmon River; two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Comeau (Celeste) of Little River Station and Mrs. Nicolas Comeau (Florence) of New London, Conn. The latter were visiting their brother on his death. The funeral service, with solemn requiem mass was held at Stella Maris Church at 9 a.m., October 5th, Mgr. J.E. Bourneuf, priest, officiated assisted by Rev. Father. S. Comeau of Collège Ste-Anne as deacon and Rev. Father Castonguay, priest of Saulnierville, as subdeacon. The raising of the body was held at the home of the deceased, the Knights of Columbus assisted at the ceremony. The pallbearers were Dr. P.E. Belliveau, Désiré Comeau, deputy, Louis Robichaud, Edouard Maillet, M.G. Munroe and Leo Mooney. Mr. Victor Deveau was in charge of the funeral. A crowd of faithful attend this service. We have many sympathies for this family in this great mourning that comes from the experience.
