Read More	The Brainard Clipper (David City, Nebr.), March 19, 1931, p. 1, col. 4 GRANDMA SEDLAK PASSED AWAY Mrs. Frances Sedlak passed away last Sunday morning, March 15, at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Navratil, five miles southwest of Brainard. She was nearly eighty-five years of age and had been in failing strength for several years past but the immediate cause of her death was a stroke of apoplexy with which she was stricken some two weeks previously. Frances Hladky was born in Naramec, Czechoslovakia, on August 17, 1846. There she grew to womanhood and was united in marriage to John Sedlak. Coming to America in 1886 they made their home on a farm northwest of Brainard. Mr. Sedlak died some thirty-six years ago and Mrs. Sedlak had since that time resided in Brainard until a couple of years ago when, due to infirmities of old age, she went to make her home with her daughter and family. Mrs. Sedlak was the mother of ten children, five of whom survive her. Besides Mrs. Navratil, there are four living sons: Anton and Frank of near Brainard, Joseph of near Surprise and Jacob of Bee. She also had thirty-seven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Sedlak lost four children in Europe and one daughter, Mrs. Anna Kostka died in 1912 at the age of forty-one years. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, March 17, at ten o’clock at Holy Trinity Catholic church in Brainard, conducted by Rt. Rev. Msgr. Klein. Burial was in the Brainard Catholic cemetery beside the grave of Mr. Sedlak. Pallbearers were the six grandsons of the deceased, Louis, Frank, William, Joseph and Raymond Sedlak and Emil Navratil. __ CARD OF THANKS.
