Description	:	Fred C. Goebel, 74, of Williston, ND, died early Tuesday morning, May 13, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Williston. Fred was born August 15, 1939 in Wildrose, ND, the youngest son of Fred and Lenora (Fenster) Goebel. He was raised on the family farm near Wildrose, ND and attended schools in the Wildrose area near the farm. In 1958 Fred enlisted in the US Army and served until he was honorably discharged in 1961. Goebel, 74, of Williston, ND, died early Tuesday morning, May 13, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Williston. Fred was born August 15, 1939 in Wildrose, ND, the youngest son of Fred and Lenora (Fenster) Goebel. He was raised on the family farm near Wildrose, ND and attended schools in the Wildrose area near the farm. In 1958 Fred enlisted in the US Army and served until he was honorably discharged in 1961. He then served with the Army Reserve until 1964. On September 22, 1961 Fred was united in marriage to Beatrice Nygaard in Williston, ND. Together they had three children. They raised their family in and near Williston where Fred worked in construction, as a chef at the Plainsman Hotel and then at the Hardy Salt Plant before starting his own construction company. He worked hard, while having a full time job he always had side projects; remodeling and maintaining their rental properties and building his family's first new home along with many others. He designed and built many things including Goebel Development on the East side of Williston and Painted Woods Mobile Home Park. He owned and operated an oil field hotshot company and remained in the construction business until he retired in 2006. After retirement Fred kept busy gardening and manicuring his yard, rock garden and pond. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, American Legion and Loyal Order of the Moose. Fred is survived by his wife, Bea, of Williston; two sons, Brad (Jana) and their daughter, Lacey Copenhaver, Scott (Deanna) and their children, Lindsey, Preston, Drew, Jayden and Chase both of Williston, ND; and one daughter; Debbie (Bill) Grace of Menifee, CA and their children, Ashley and William; four great-grandchildren, Aven Hanson, Vernon, Waylon and Millie Copenhaver; sisters, Geraldine Johnson of Williston, ND, Darlene Strandberg of Kalispell, MT and Yvonne Bishop of Dallas, GA; and many nieces and nephews. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Lenora Goebel; two brothers, Eugene and Rolland Goebel; and sister, Inez Edenloff.
