Fred Dyba Sr., 97, of Biloxi, Miss., formerly of Miles City, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006, at the home of his daughter, Marlene Speder in Biloxi. Marlene and her sister, Rose Bianco, had been caring for their father for the last eight months. Mr. Dyba was born April 23, 1908, in Germany to Paul and Agnes Tiles Dyba. Fred Dyba Sr., 97, of Biloxi, Miss., formerly of Miles City, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006, at the home of his daughter, Marlene Speder in Biloxi. Marlene and her sister, Rose Bianco, had been caring for their father for the last eight months. Mr. Dyba was born April 23, 1908, in Germany to Paul and Agnes Tiles Dyba. He was one of nine boys born in the family. Mr. Dyba came to the United States at the age of one year. On April 6, 1931, he and Anna Hafla were married in Miles City. They were married 72 years, when Anna died on April 9, 2003. From this union, five children were born, including, Fred (Katie) Dyba, Jr. and Anthony (Helen) Dyba of Billings, Rose (Jimmy) Bianco of Franklin Mass., Jerome Dyba of Bozeman and Marlene (Walt) Speder of Biloxi.; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Mr. and Mrs. Dyba lived in Miles City for 60 years. He worked many years for Beacon Carter Service, as a truck driver, until his retirement. Prior to that he farmed east of Cohagen. The couple moved to Billings in 1999 to be near their children. In addition to his wife, Anna, Mr. Dyba was preceded in death by his parents; two grandchildren; and seven brothers. His survivors include his five children; his grandchildren; his brother, Bill; and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. Rosary/vigil services were recited at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, 2006, in the Bullis-Graves Memorial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006, in the Miles City Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rite of Committal followed in the Calvary Cemetery, Miles City, MT. Bullis-Graves Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
