He married Ella Hitchcock on December 31, 1908 in Ida Grove, IA. They were the parents of Leonard (1917) and 3 children who died as infants. He was born April 5, 1879 at Clinton, IL., and passed away from this life July 25, 1959. He came to Iowa as a boy, settling in Sac county with his parents. He was united in marriage to Ella Hitchcock at Ida Grove December 31, 1908. They were privileged to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary. After their marriage they farmed for 18 years east of Galva. Then they moved to Ida Grove. For the past 8 years they have made their home most of the time in Florida. He was a member of the I.O.OF. Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother, John, and three infant children. He is survived by his wife Ella, one sister, Mrs Bertha Kessler of Odebolt, his son Leonard, and two granddaughters.
