Read More	Fred Elliot Loomis was born in Crawford County, Kansas near Walnut, July 7, 1884 and departed this life February 21, 1923 aged 38 years, 7 months and 14 days. He was united in marriage to Hallie E. (Culbertson) September 28, 1904 and they began life together on the farm where he was born and where they have since resided. Three childre, Merle, Velda Belle and Hugh were born to them. He leaves to mourn his death, his wife and three children, his mother, Mrs Belle Loomis and two sisters, Mrs. Stella Pennebaker of Vigril, Kansas and Mrs. Bessie Yoho of Pasco, Washington, besides other near relatice and many friends. His father, Charles Harper Loomis died when Fred was but a small boy leaving his mother the responsibility of rearing a family of three small children. He grew to manhood in this community and has always distinguished himself as am upright young man, held in high esteem by all who knew him. When quite young he became a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church of which he has been a faithful and active member. He was devoted to his family and his sudden death, from pneumonia, in the prime of his life, he cast upon the home a deep sorrow. Funeral services were held in the Methodist Church, Friday afternoon, Feburary 23, cunducted by Rev. J.J. Brodhead and attended by a large number of friends and neighbors who came to pay a last tribute of respect. He is resting from his labors e're time has dimmed his eye or silvered his hair. The comfort of his smile and kind words will be missed. Time only and trust in the Heavenly Father will soften the keen edge of sorrow in the hearts of those who loved him. Interment was made in the Walnut cemetery. The pallbeares were from the Sunday School class of which he was a member. They were, Fred Griffith, H.M. Kennedy, W.H. Pearson, Herbert Lyness, Mr. Hudson and J.A Martin. Ther floral offerints were many and beautiful. (Walnut Eagle)
