Description	:	Fred Henry Blom was born near Leighton on June 29, 1928, to Leonard and Katheryn Colyn Blom. He graduated from the Pleasant Ridge country grade school. Blom worked on the farm with his father until he began working for Walt Vande Kraats running a bulldozer and farming. He later worked in the same capacity for Wilbur Van Ee for several years. He moved into Pella in 1959. He had a special relationship with Ruth Van Rees for over 40 years. Blom passed away on March 10 at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. He was 76. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Dorothy Kisor and a brother-in-law, Russ Tandy. He is survived by his brother Paul and Marjorie Blom of Pella; three sisters: Lenora Tandy of Knoxville, Elsie and Ray Kooser of Wheat Ridge, Colo., and Pat and Ron Bellon of Lovilia; his brother-in-law, Marion Kisor of Oskaloosa and many nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Ebenezer Reformed Church in Leighton and the Pella Golf and Country Club.
