Description	:	Fred LeGear was born to Lyle and Eva LeGear at Galahad, Alberta. His father Lyle died when Fred was only 2 years old followed by his mother Eva, who passed away when he was only 6 years old. He was then placed in an orphanage until his Uncle Max LeGear became his guardian. He then moved to Forestburg. Fred took his schooling at Edmonton, Woodrow Country School, Galahad, and Forestburg. Read More	Fred LeGear was born to Lyle and Eva LeGear at Galahad, Alberta. His father Lyle died when Fred was only 2 years old followed by his mother Eva, who passed away when he was only 6 years old. He was then placed in an orphanage until his Uncle Max LeGear became his guardian. He then moved to Forestburg. Fred took his schooling at Edmonton, Woodrow Country School, Galahad, and Forestburg. He started working in a butcher shop after school and on weekends for John Wallsten. Then he worked several years at Coutts Hardware. In 1963 he went back to the meat cutting profession with Moore's Tomboy until he retired in 1993. Fred enjoyed sports of any kind and knew the statistics from years gone by. He coached minor baseball and spent many years managing the Forestburg Braves Senior baseball team. On May 6, 1961, he married Reta Crawford. They had 3 children, Scott, Doug, and Nancy. In March 1999 he suffered a massive stroke which left him paralyzed. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Reta of 55 years, children Scott (Marlon) of Edmonton, Doug of Red Deer, and Nancy (Dave) of Forestburg, grandchildren Ashley, Sean, Courtney, Lee, Brady, Shantel, and Alysha. Great-grandchildren Brooklyn and Gavin, sister Darlene (Bob), sisters in law, brothers-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Lyle, mother Eva, guardian Max LeGear, brother Lorne and Bob (who was like a brother).
