Description	:	Fred (Pete) Norton, eldest son of James Franklin and Elsie Norton, was born October 26, 1907 at Neelyville, MIssouri, and passed away April 27, 1983 at his home near Winona, Missouri at the age of 75 years, 6 months and 1 day. He grew up, spent his boyhood and got his education in Shannon County. On November 7, 1926, he was united in marriage to Myrtle Neal, and to this union 4 children were born: Carl, Gene and Patsy, one son, Fred Loren, his parents and five brothers preceded him in death. He grew up, spent his boyhood and got his education in Shannon County. On November 7, 1926, he was united in marriage to Myrtle Neal, and to this union 4 children were born: Carl, Gene and Patsy, one son, Fred Loren, his parents and five brothers preceded him in death. He was baptized at an early age and lived faithful for the Lord throughout his life. He was a kind, loving and gentle son, husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to those who needed him. Pete was a great sportsman and loved to hunt and fish in his native, beautiful Missouri Ozarks. Pete and Myrtle spent the first years of their married life around Low Wassie and Winona. He then moved his family to St. Louis, where he worked for General Motors and as a foreman for the City of St. Louis for many years. When he retired, he and Myrtle moved back to Winona, where he remained until the time of his death. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Myrtle, of the home; three children, Carl Norton and Patsy Jochum of St. Louis and Gene Norton of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee; fourteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, two daughter-in-laws and one son-in-law. He also leave 2 brothers, Don and Jim of Winona; 3 sisters, Hazel Jones of Winona, Mary Bryson of Afton and Ellen Howard of Fenton; and a host of nieces, nephews and relatives and a multitude of friends who will miss him so much. Our loss is Heaven's gain.
