Glenn Midthun will officiate and burial will be in the Bath cmemtery. Mr. McCormick died friday, March 17 at ST. Luke's Hospital after and extended illness. He was born Feb 20, 1893 at Secor, Illinois. As a young man he came to South Dakota with his family and resided at Warner. Later he farmed with his brother at Columbia. He served in France during World War I and was discharged in July 1919. He then returned to Columbia. On Feb 26, 1920 he married Genevieve Baudoin at Aberdeen. They made their home in Warner until the fall of 1921 when he became a rural mail carrier out of Bath, a position he held for over 37 years, retiring in 1959. He was active in amateur baseball as a pitcher and short stop in his earlier years and for many years was umpire and athletic manager for American Legion baseball. Mr. McCormick was a member of World War I Barracks, an original members of the Drum an Bugle Corps. Last Man's Club, Brown County Rural Letter Carrier's Assn., and the Columbia American Legion. Survivors include his widow, two sons, Lyle of Montevideo, Minn., and Kenneth of Bath; and one daughter Mrs. James (Helen) Walton. Webster; one sister, Mrs. Flossie Whitney, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Friends may call at the Huebl Chapel from 19 a.m. Sunday until Monday noon and then atthe church from 12:30 p.m. until time of service. Relatives are to meet in the church basement, at 1:30 p.m. Monday. The family would prefer memorials.
