Read More	4/27/2015 - Obits provided by Marlena Linne "FROM THE FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP HISTORICAL SOCIETY SCRAPBOOK COLLECTION - FRED PHARES - Fred Phares, age 79, of R R 1, Fountaintown, passed away at his residence Tuesday morning, January 20th. He was born in Shelby County August 5, 1896, the son of Marshall and Lucinda Means Phares. he retired from the Indianapolis School Board, where he had worked for 30 years. For the past 20 years he had been engaged in farming in Shelby County. he was a member of New Life United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Edna McNamara Phares; two daughters, Mrs Elmer (Phyllis) Wilkins of R R 1, Fountaintown and Mrs William (Sue) Brown of Indianapolis; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 AM today, at Hendryx Mortuary, New Palestine Chapel, with the Rev Kenneth Harrison officiating. Interment will be in the New Palestine Cemetery. ------- FRED PHARES - NEW PALESTINE, IND - Fred Phares, 79, R R 1, Fountaintown, a retired employee of the Indianapolis Board of School Commissioners and a retired farmer, died yesterday in his home. Services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday in Hendryx Mortuaries, new Palestine Chapel, with burial in New Palestine Cemetery. Survivors include his widow, Mrs Edna Phares, and two daughters, Mrs Elmer (Phyllis) Wilkins of RR 1, Fountaintown and Mrs William (Sue) Brown of Indianapolis. ----- PHARES - Mr Fred Phares, of RR 1, Fountaintown, entered into rest Tuesday age 79.
