Description	:	St. Matthews - Fred Raymond Hutto Jr., 78, of 601 Dantzler St., St. Matthews, died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2005, at Calhoun Convalescent Center in St. Matthews. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, at St. George Baptist Church in Orangeburg with the Revs. Scott Alewine, Dean Fox and Jimmy Hanf officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Hutto was born April 29, 1927, in Orangeburg County, a son of the late Fred Raymond Hutto Sr. and Mary Alice Carson Hutto. He was retired from the S.C. Department of Highways and was a self-employed cabinet maker and contractor. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Bowman and a former member of St. George Baptist Church in Orangeburg where he was a long-time deacon. He was a member of Woodmen of the World, former member of the Cope Hunting Club, the Fork Hunting Club, the Bay Hunting Club and the Ridge Hunting Club. He loved playing sports and played semi-pro minor league baseball with the Orangeburg Braves in the 1940s and with the Eastern Carolina League. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helena Fort Hutto. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Margaret Dukes Hutto, of Orangeburg; one son, Fred Raymond 'Ray' Hutto III, of Orangeburg; two daughters, Alice Hutto Geiger, of Swansea and Mrs. Jerry (Doris) Antley, of Cope; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Allen (Becky) Woods, of Charleston/Aiken; three stepsons, Kim and Kitty Canady, of Kingsland, Ga., B. B. and Jackie Canady, of Summerville and Jim and Michelle Canady, of Orangeburg; six grandchildren, Joby and Kelley Geiger, of Swansea, Jason and Brandy Geiger, of Orangeburg, Kevin Antley, of Columbia, Brad Antley, of Cope, Autumn Hutto and Fred Hutto, both of Orangeburg; two great-grandchildren, Preston Adam Geiger and Tatum Noel Geiger, both of Orangeburg; eight stepgrandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Williams, of Cottondale, Fla. Friends may call at the residence, 3737 Charleston Highway, Orangeburg, and at the funeral home. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Thompson Funeral Home Inc. in Orangeburg.
