Visitation at Miller-Huebl Funeral Home. Fred Rosin was born Nov. 12, 1916, near Selby, S.D., to Wilhelm and Dorothea (Stoecker) Rosin. He attended and graduated from Selby High School. Fred married Meta Amanda Bratzel on June 12, 1941, at Selby, S.D. They farmed from 1941 until 1961. They then moved to Aberdeen in 1961, where he began selling health, accident and life insurance and continued doing so until 2001. He continued to make Aberdeen his home until the time of his death. Fred was a charter member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Aberdeen and sang in many choirs and music groups. While on the farm, he also served as local reporter to Sioux Falls on agriculture conditions. He was recognized for various insurance sales achievements and won a trip to the National Convention in Miami, Fla. His memory lives on with his wife, Meta Rosin of Aberdeen; two sons, Frederick (Sally) Rosin of Bryant, S.D., and James (Ruth) Rosin of Aberdeen; two daughters, Marge Rosin of Aberdeen and Barbara (Richard) Stotz of Winner, S.D.; one sister, Matilda Sauer of Bowdle, S.D.; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, two brothers, one grandson and one great-grandson. Casketbearers will be grandsons, Michael, Darin and David Stotz and Frederick and William Rosin and great-grandson, Austin Flynn. Published in the Aberdeen News on 12/2/2005.
