He had not been ill but three weeks previous to his death. Up to that time he was in the best of health for a man of his years. He was born October 14, 1839, in the province of Holstein, Germany. While a resident of that country he was married to Margaret Rohbore. Mr. and Mrs. Schone and their family removed to the United States In 1864, and settled in Chicago, where they lived for a year. They then came to Jones county where they lived for a while on what is known as the Moses farm, in Scotch Grove township. They they removed to Sand Spring where they lived for four years. It was while they were residents of Sand Spring that they celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary, November 2, 1908. At that time a large number of their relatives and neighbors attended a reception given in their honor. Rev. C. Mardorf spoke in both German and English. In 1915, Mr. and Mrs. Schone retired from active farm life and went to Chicago to Iive with one of their children. During the past three years they have been making their home with their son, John Schone, in Scotch Grove township. Mr. Schone is survived by his widow and five children: Mrs. Frank Wolf of Germany, William Schone of Crystal Lake, Illinois, Mrs. Henry Reinert of South Dakota, John Schone of Scotch Grove township, Mrs. Joe Wahlen and Frank Schone of Chicago. The funeral services will be held at the John Schone home tomorrow (Friday) a t 11 o'clock and at the Wayne Lutheran church at 1 o'clock. The services will be conducted by Rev. John Willms. Burial will be had at the Wayne Lutheran cemetery. * * * * * * His wife, Dorothy Rohbore Schone, went back to Germany and passed away there on 22 Nov 1924 • Wettsaasen, Hessen, Deutschland.
