Steenblock and wife of this city, was run over by an auto on the roadway near Wall Lake Saturday while riding his bicycle. Fred Steinblock was employed at the Illinois Central coal chutes in South Wall Lake, and was a man about 40 years of age. He leaves a wife and three children to mourn his loss, besides his father and mother and brothers and sisters, Mrs. Wm. Steinblock, wife of the local section foreman, being a sister. The body was badly mangled......still he lingered from Saturday afternoon until Monday morning about 2 o'clock before death relieved him from his sufferings. The aged father and mother, wife and children and other close relatives have the heartfelt sympathy of all in their bereavement. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the home of deceased at Wall Lake. Many friends of the family from Lake View were in attendance. ------------------------------------------------- Fred Steinblock was married to Clara Belle (Carr) Stilts; in the 1910 census, they were living at Jackson, Crawford County, Iowa with Clara's daughter, Goldie Stilts, 3 years old. In the 1915 Iowa census, Fred and Clara Belle had two children - Katherine, 4 years old and Almond, 2 years old; they and Clara Belle's daughter, Goldie were living at Wall Lake, Iowa.
