Description	:	Mr. Fred Thomas Oakley Sr., 77, of 2058 Pleasant View Church Road died April 11, 2002, at Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart, Va. He was born in Stokes County on June 1, 1924, the son of the late Noel David and Ruth Glidewell Oakley. He was retired from Spector Red Ball Freight Lines, worked part time for 11 years with the Stokes County Sheriff's Office, as a deputy, and was a member of North View Primitive Baptist Church. He was born in Stokes County on June 1, 1924, the son of the late Noel David and Ruth Glidewell Oakley. He was retired from Spector Red Ball Freight Lines, worked part time for 11 years with the Stokes County Sheriff's Office, as a deputy, and was a member of North View Primitive Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers; and two sisters. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Mrs. Hansel Hole Oakley of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Fred Thomas Oakley Jr. and Karen of Danbury; grandchildren Austin Thomas Oakley, Etta Mae Biggs and Katherine E. Sides; a brother and sister-in-law, Ervin (Doris) Oakley of Germanton; sisters-in-law Sadie Oakley of Lawsonville and Evelyn Hughes of Stuart, Va.; and his mother-in-law, Mrs. Bertie Simmons Hole of Rose Tara Assisted Living in King. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2002, at North View Primitive Baptist Church, with Elder Milton Gunter officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening at Nelson Funeral Home Chapel and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to North View Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Raymond Young, 1738 Pleasant View Church Road, Danbury, NC 27016.
