Description	:	Freda Dye, 91, died peacefully Thursday morning, Oct. 30, 1997, at the home of her daughter, in Wenatchee. She was born, one of 11 children, on Nov. 8, 1905, in Russell, Kan., to Fred and Dora (Crough) Besel. The family settled in Waterville, where she met and married Herbert B. Dye in 1928. In 1930 they moved to Leavenworth where they raised five children who all graduated from Leavenworth High School. Mrs. Dye was a 50-year member and past worthy matron of Astral Chapter No. 125 Order of Eastern Star, the White Shrine and, until age 88, volunteered... She was born, one of 11 children, on Nov. 8, 1905, in Russell, Kan., to Fred and Dora (Crough) Besel. The family settled in Waterville, where she met and married Herbert B. Dye in 1928. In 1930 they moved to Leavenworth where they raised five children who all graduated from Leavenworth High School. Mrs. Dye was a 50-year member and past worthy matron of Astral Chapter No. 125 Order of Eastern Star, the White Shrine and, until age 88, volunteered for numerous Lutheran Church activities and the Community Cupboard in Leavenworth. Survivors include four children, Bill Dye of Tacoma, Betty Johnson of Seattle,and Pat Daviduke and Vicki Dye, both of Wenatchee; one brother; two sisters; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert, in 1961; parents; three brothers; four sisters; one son; and one grandson. Ward's Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
