Campbell, a well known resident of Westfield community, died Wednesday, December 27, at his home and the funeral was held Saturday afternoon with burial at Westfield. Mr. Campbell was born near Ponca, Nebraska, June 21, 1884. The family moved to Sioux City when Mr. Campbell was a young boy. About thirty years ago he married Lena Hummel and moved to a farm near Westfield where he resided until his death. Survivors include his widow and six children, his mother, Mrs. Alice A. Campbell, of Westfield, a brother, Rennie Campbell, of Akron and a sister, Mrs. W. B. Clementson, of Sioux City. Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel Tuesday, January, 2, 1940, Le mars, Iowa Westfield community is saddened by the death of Monte Campbell, who passed away December 27, after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the Congregational church in Westfield. Rev. Chas. Seward of Sioux City officiating. During the services, two hymns were sung by Messrs, H. Jacoby and O. B. Akers, with Mrs. Keith Knapp as accompanist. The remains were laid to rest in the Westfield cemetery. The pallbearers were O. B. Lilly, A. A. Martin, Dike Spaulding, Joe McCue, Chris. Jensen and M. W. Conway. Freddie LaMont Campbell was born on a farm near Ponca, Neb., June 21, 1883. He was the eldest of a family of four children. At the age of nine years he moved with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Campbell, to Sioux City, Iowa, where he grew to manhood. In 1906 they moved to a farm near Milnerville. On March 11, 1908, he was united in marriage with Miss Lena Hummel. To this union seven children were born, the first son dying in infancy. Mr. Campbell was a man of kind and pleasing personality and numbered his friends by his acquaintances in the community in which he spent so many years. He will be greatly missed by his friends. He leaves to mourn his loss, his, wife, three sons, Harold, Donald and Virgil; three daughters, Mrs. Gladys Campbell, Mrs. Gail Lilly and Mrs. Vera Eslick of Elk Point, S.
