Frederick spent his childhood on the family farm run by his father, Elvin, and often recalled fond memories of farrowing pigs, stacking hay bales, raising cattle and living the care-free life of a rural Iowa farm kid. During his third grade year of schooling he attended All Saints Catholic School and lived with close relatives, Phyllis and Norbert Tigges, in the Dexter area. This was like a second home for Fred and he maintained a close relationship with his Aunt and Uncle into adulthood. During his school years, he enjoyed participating in 4H activities and later on he was involved in school sports such as wrestling, where he excelled. Frederick graduated from Guthrie Center High School in 1977.　He lived in Fremont, NE for a few years working at a packing house.　He then moved back to Iowa and lived in several different communities across the state working various jobs including building and road construction, Mrs. Grimes Canning Factory in Grimes, and Genesis Development workshop in Jefferson before moving to Fort Dodge.　Fort Dodge is the place he called home for the last 10-12 years, working at LifeWorks during that time. Frederick loved many things about life. Some of his favorites were to go fishing back at the family farm or Kennedy Lake in Fort Dodge, his close relationship with his sister Kim, Iowa Hawkeyes football - although his loyalties temporarily swayed while his niece attended Iowa State University, occasionally going to the casino, listening to country music, his conservative talk radio programs and most of all, being a loving uncle to his niece Katie. He was very much looking forward to being a great-uncle later this spring with the expected arrival of Katie and Jesse's first child. He is survived by his sister, Kim (Paul) Greenlee of Panora IA and niece, Katie (Jesse) Akers of Guthrie Center IA, and special aunt and uncle Phyllis and Norbert Tigges of Dexter IA, and several other special Aunts, Uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial Services will be 11:00 A.M., Friday, April 28, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Guthrie Center, Iowa. Burial will follow at the Resurrection Cemetery in rural Guthrie Center with a luncheon to follow at the First Baptist Church. 　 Obituary was published by Twigg Funeral Home .
