Read More	Guthrie Center, Iowa Times Wednesday, May 25, 1966 Page 5: Fred Holsman, son of George and Caroline Holsman, was born in Guthrie Co., Iowa, June 15 1882 and died at Panora IA., May 9, 1966. Most of his life was spent working on farms in Guthrie County. He lived for a time in Oregon and Washington States working in lumber camps and in fruit orchards, then returning to his native state. He loved the beauty of the outdoors and lived near nature, spending his leisure time hunting and fishing, and roaming the woods and hills searching for unusual rocks and old Indian relics from which he derived much enjoyment from collection. He is survived by six children Mrs. Gladys Lopez of Sacramento, Calif.: Mrs. Zazel Myers, Perry, IA.; Mrs Catherine Lorenzen of Glenn Ellen, Illinois; George of Eu Clair, Wisconsin; David of Volga, IA.; Robert of Chicago, Illinois. Twelve grandchildren and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ora and infant child, five brothers, two sisters, Mrs Grace McCabe, Mrs Kate Beck, Bros. Frank, William, Edward, George and Robert. Funeral services were held at the Beidelman Funeral home May 11, with Rev. Lester Pearson, Christian Church, officiation. Interment in Union Cemetery. Out of town people attending services were Mr and Mrs Charles Orwick, Mrs Edna Peters, Miss Judy Holsman, Mrs Chris Reegert all of Des Moines, Bernard Holsman, Lake Ozark, Missouri., George Holsman, Eu Clair, Wisconson; Mr and Mrs Dave Holsman, Volga, IA., Mrs Zazel Myers, Perry, IA., Mrs Catherine Lorenzen, Glen Ellen, Illinois., Mr and Mrs Clyde Smith, Casey, IA., Mr and Mrs Floyd Williams, Panora.
