Interment services were held at the Kraai Funeral Home in Hull, Iowa on Saturday, Feb. 21, with the Rev. C. Van Schouwen and the Rev. J. Piersma, both of Sioux Center, officiating. Frederick Nymeyer was born on Nov. 12, 1897, at Hull, son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin B. Nymeyer. He grew up in Hull, graduated from the Hull Public High School, and went on to college. He served briefly in the army in 1918 shortly before the close of World War I. He taught in a country school northwest of Hull for one year and then returned to college, graduating from the University of Chicago. He was a member of the Christian Reformed Church. Mr. Nymeyer was an economist and a business consultant and wrote several books on Christian economics and other related subjects. On Feb. 15, 1922, he married Cornelia Haeck of Grand Rapids, Mich. They had five sons and one daughter. The survivors include the widow: sons Martin B. Nymeyer of Redlands, Califonia, Maurice Nymeyer of Highland, Ind., Eliot Nymeyer of Crete, Illinois, Philip Nymeyer of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Cornelius Nymeyer of South Holland, Ill., 22 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. The daughter Elizabeth passed away in 1929 at the age of two years. One grandson preceded him in death in 1961. Also surviving are a brother, Ben M. Nymeyer of Redlands, California, and a sister, Mrs. Leonard R. Haan (Grace) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Another sister, Mrs. Joe R. Van Drunen (Anna Marie) of South Holland, Illinois, passed away in 1978. Sioux County Index 1981-02-25.
