Description	:	Frederick Gies, known as Fritz Gies, age 82 years, passed away Tuesday August 7, 2007 at Bay Regional Medical Center. He was born in Linwood on January 11, 1925 to the late Peter Gies and Elsie (Kiesel) Gies. He married the former Evelyn Van Wert on October 20, 1952 at St. Michael Church. She preceded him in death on September 13, 1992. Fritz was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WW II, retired from the City of Pinconning, member of St. Michael Church, Crump Fox Club and Pinconning K of C. He was born in Linwood on January 11, 1925 to the late Peter Gies and Elsie (Kiesel) Gies. He married the former Evelyn Van Wert on October 20, 1952 at St. Michael Church. She preceded him in death on September 13, 1992. Fritz was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WW II, retired from the City of Pinconning, member of St. Michael Church, Crump Fox Club and Pinconning K of C. He was a former little league coach for the "Indians", played baseball for the North Eastern Baseball league, enjoyed building bird houses, hunting, farming and perch fishing with his buddy Bob. He was survived by his four sons, Fred Gies and friend Cindy, of Pinconning, Ron & Debbie Gies of Pinconning, Jerry & Mary Gies, Dan (Boone) & Roberta (Bird) Gies both of Pinconning; 6 grandchildren, Kristopher, Eric, Jeremy, Kyle, Kayla, Jennifer Gies; brother, Carl Gies; 2 sisters, Edna Bornemann, Elaine & Carl Harrow; sister-in-law Irma Gies. He was predeceased by a brother Elmer and sister Doris Bornemann. Funeral Mass from St. Michael Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. George Serour and Deacon Ralph Brisson presiding with inurnment in St. Michael Cemetery. Military Services under the auspices of Michigan Army National Guard Friends. Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home
