Description	:	Frederick J. Steves FAIR HAVEN, Vt. -- Frederick J. Steves, age 63, of Fair Haven, Vt., passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007, at his residence with his family by his side. Fred was born in Whitehall on April 26, 1943, son of the late Frederick and Mary Alice (LaRose) Steves. Steves, age 63, of Fair Haven, Vt., passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007, at his residence with his family by his side. Fred was born in Whitehall on April 26, 1943, son of the late Frederick and Mary Alice (LaRose) Steves. He was employed by Brown's Auto Salvage in Castleton as an automotive dismantler for the past 30-plus years. Fred married his wife, Waneta, in Castleton on June 24, 1995. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Fred enjoyed playing horseshoes and woodworking. He will be remembered as a hard-working man who will be greatly missed by all who knew him, including his beloved dog, Holly. Fred is survived by his wife, Waneta Steves of Fair Haven, Vt.; three brothers, Richie Steves of Fair Haven, Vt., Henry Joseph Steves and his wife, Patricia, of Glens Falls, and Roland Steves and his fiancée, Amanda, of Granville; one sister, Darlene Steves of Tennessee; two sons, Freddie Steves and his wife, Lisa, of Castleton, Vt., and Chris Steves of Granville; two daughters, Tina Steves and her partner, Rob Jenkins, of Granville, and Ramona Towne and her fiancé, Clinton, of Granville; three stepsons, Kenneth Severance and his partner, Becky, of Wallingford, Vt., Brian Severance and his partner, Stacey, of Fair Haven, Vt., and Kevin Clark and his wife, Sharon, of Fair Haven, Vt.; 19 grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews; he was also survived by two dear friends, Mark and Joan Brown. Relatives and friends may call on Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Roberts-Aubin Funeral Home in Poultney. A funeral service will take place at 5 p.m. following the visitation. The Rev. Donald Baird, pastor of the Castleton Federated Church, will officiate. Interment will be this spring in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Castleton. Donations in memory of Fred may be sent to the Rutland County Humane Society, Stevens Road, Pittsford, VT 05763.
