Description	:	Funeral services for Fred J. Davids, 69, were held Saturday, March 30 at 1:30 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church. Reverend Paul Banitt officiated with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Robert Peters, LeRoy McKown, Dean Nielsen, Russell Sorensen, Lawrence Kumm and Eldon Rohwer. Davids, the son of John and Anna (Falter) Davids, was born October 20, 1915 at Osmond and died at his home March 26 at the age of 69 years, five months and five days after a lingering illness. Fred was baptized and confirmed his faith at Zion Lutheran Church of Creighton. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church his entire life and had served on the church council. Fred was united in marriage with Evelyn Stocking at Madison on August 21, 1940. The Davids farmed near Bloomfield for four years and then moved to the Creighton area, where they farmed the remaining years of his life. He was also employed as a school bus driver for Neal's Bus Service for 19 years. He enjoyed both woodworking and his hours at the piano with the Old Time Band of Creighton. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; his son and daughter-in-law, Owen and Judy; three grandchildren; one brother, Harold of Osmond and two sisters, Marceline Rathjen of Creighton and Lucille Hollendieck of Fremont. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna, an infant daughter, Elizabeth and an infant grandson, Jason.
