Description	:	The Orchard News Friday August 31, 1917 Frederick Louis Tiede Antelope county lost one of it's pioneer citizens when death claimed Frederick Louis Tiede Tuesday morning. Mr. Tiede was among the first settlers of Antelope county settling here in 1886, and home-steading the ground where part of the village of Orchard now stands. Mr. Tiede was among the first settlers of Antelope county settling here in 1886, and home-steading the ground where part of the village of Orchard now stands. Frederick Louis Tiede was born in Alt Kranzelin, Mecklenberg, Germany, Feb. 16th, 1840, and died at Orchard, Neb., Aug. 28th, 1917, age 77 years, 6 months and 12 days. He was married to Hannah Catherine Dorethea Becker, Mar., 24th, 1865 at Gamavillo, Clayton Co., Iowa, and to this union six children were born all of whom are living except Mrs. J. W. Harmon; those living are Mrs. Alvina Murphy of Sioux City, Iowa, Mrs. Bertha Brewster, Fred W., Sarah and Mahala of Orchard, Neb. In early life the deceased was baptized and confirmed in the German Lutheran church of his native land, and was a faithful member until the end. Mr. Tiede with his wife and family located on the farm adjoining Orchard in April 1886, coming from Iowa. During their residence here they have stood high in the esteem of the community and the sympathy of all goes out to the family in this hour of bereavement. The deceased had been a member of the A.O. U.W. lodge for many years. Funeral services were held at the home Thursday morning conducted by Rev. H. H. Spracklen and interment made in the Orchard cemetery beside his wife.
