Description	:	Martell-Sprague Leader, Lincoln, NE - Thur, 6 Jan 1916 Fred Pietenpol was born in the year 1848 in the Netherlands, Holland. In 1868 he with his father and mother started to cross the ocean for the United States. His father died aboard ship and was buried in mid-ocean. Mr. Pietenpol and his mother lived in Wisconsin for a little more than a year, and then they came to Nebraska and took a homestead southeast of Martell, where he has lived ever since.
